Restore Your Hope

Hope

In this blog, I take a brief moment away  from teen pregnancy prevention. I endeavor to reach those who feel like they are just merely existing. Those who feel like there will never be brighter days. In this piece, I share that as long as you have hope you have a fighting chance. With God all things are possible.

Restore Your Hope

You woke up this morning feeling lost, feeling like a failure. You messed up really bad yesterday. You feel there is no hope for you while everyone else seems to have it together. Their lives seem perfect. You are in your own little world where only you care about you. All your friends seem too busy to hear your complaints and concerns. You wonder the reason God even woke you up this morning. You feel like your four walls are caving in.

My friend, the key thing here is that God did wake you up. Today is a new day. I know that sounds cliché but it is truth. And because you are here today, you have a fresh start. You have another chance to get it right. You did not make it to this day too feel bad about yesterday. Get up, shake yesterday off because it’s gone, you cannot do anything to change it. But, you can change how you handle today. God has a great plan for your life. Refocus and renew your mind with His promises for you.

Listen to me my friend you can make it. You will make it if you do not give up. Set high goals and work deliberately towards them. Once you take the first step your outlook on life will begin to look better one moment at a time. When you begin feeling defeated and reaching your goals seem impossible don’t quit. Take time to celebrate the small steps that you accomplished. I believe in you. Although, I may not know you personally, I’ve been at the point of despair. I’ve felt alone and unloved. I’ve wished it would all end because I didn’t think it would get any better. I once believed in luck and that I only had bad luck.

But, look at me years later I’m still here. The walls didn’t cave in; others really do care about me. More importantly God made me, God cares about me. God loves me and God has an awesome plan for my life. My life hasn’t always been easy and I may face some difficult times ahead, but I have realized that even at my lowest point, I was still better off than I could have been. I remain hopeful that my tomorrows will always be better than my yesterdays. These truths apply to you as well. If God did it for me he will certainly do it for you. God woke you up this morning for a reason. Now, it’s up to you to live on purpose.

“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

How will you make today better than yesterday? What are your goals for tomorrow, next week, next month or next year? What are you doing to make your dreams come true?

  1. Good morning and blessed new day!
Renee, your words are powerful and fitting for this season. So many people are experiencing the feelings you expressed in the blog on hope. They do feel alone. Thank God He gave you this message of hope for one of His children. Please be encouraged to continue spreading the message of God’s love, peace and healing power. It is a message that will make a difference in so many lives.
    I love you!

    • Minister Hailstock,
Thank you for your kind words. At the time of writing this piece I was reminded of when I felt hopeless. Then I thought on how hopeful I am today. And the Holy Spirit told me to share my story. I pray it reaches the one who needs it most. Thank you for your encouragement it really means a lot. I love you to and am growing so much under the New Day Ministry.

  2. Renee,

You are truly an inspiration! I agree with Minister Hailstock, there are so many people feeling this same way (I’ve been there too). When I read your blog this morning, I think back on all the conversations we have had and how we keep each other motivated and I couldn’t help but get teary eyed. My hope has been restored and I’m getting my focus back. I have been walking by faith and not by sight. Continue to let your light shine and move forward. I love you!

  3. Awww Miquel,
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I am glad that I have been able to help you in times of need. I share out of the abundance of my heart. God has done so much for me from a young, hopeless girl to a mature, God-seeking, God-lead woman. I am blessed to have friends like yourself who are with me even when I need encouraging. Keep the Focus (as your pastor shared a couple of weeks ago). God has great things planned for you.

    Love,
    Renee
